One month down

I treasure every photo that is sent to me! I miss her so much it hurts. I wouldn't want her to be anywhere else and I know that serving a mission is exactly what she needs and what the Lord wants her to do.  She is courageous and brave and I am a proud mother!

I think it's so cute that every picture so far has some sort of animal or reptile :) she is a doll!! 

This month has gone by so slow to us but to her I'm sure time is flying by. It sounds like she is so busy she is constantly running!

Off to the MTC

Nothing can prepare you for this!  People try to warn you but it's an indescribable feeling watching your child walk away.  The fact that we won't see her for 18 months hurts so much!  Enough about the sadness....she will be the most amazing missionary!  She has such a sweet spirit about her and the sincere testimony that she has will touch many lives in Roseville,  CA.

We got 2 minutes at the curb to say a last goodbye before the escorts took her and her luggage and were off.

We love Sierra so much and we will miss her like crazy, but we know she is on an amazing journey.  We are so excited for her and her BRAVE and unselfish decision to serve.

Sierra's Farewell

Sierra spoke today on Loving Others.  The spirit was so strong and touched many people.  She has showed us an amazing amount of courage.  She did a wonderful job sharing stories, talking about loved ones and bearing a strong testimony. She will be missed by many!! We love her so much and know she will be blessed as she enters the MTC on Aug. 6th.

Field Trip

One thing that I love about the youngest child is that you can participate in field trips and help more in the classroom because there are no little ones still at home. I hurried and turned my paper in and was so happy to be one of two moms to get to go on this field trip to the Nature Center. It was so pretty because it snowed the day before and the animal tracks were fresh and easy to spot because of the snow. Livi was happy to be able to wear a hat and not have to do her hair...the problem is that she is always hot! I should have thought about this and at least put her hair on a pony tail. She was so hot that she had me carry her hat shortly after getting there. She ditched the gloves too, crazy girl!!

Balloon Hats and Lunch

Lunch was awesome! We ate in the Pope's room at Buca di Beppo, around the huge, round table. We thought it was hilarious as people would come up the stairs and see all these balloon hats and no kids!! As always, when we get together with the Brown's and the Gamble's it is fun, good food and plenty of laughs.

An officer remembered

I woke up today and had the feeling that I would forever regret not going to the funeral procession for Officer Francom. I decided to let the kids make the decision of whether or not to be checked out of school for it. Livi was so excited, I had told her as much as I could on a 5 year old level and she was pumped! She got herself all fixed up in a dress and tights, she did her own hair and then she sat at the table and made a flag. There was a couple of hours that we sat in the cold and waited, but we will always remember this day!

We are so proud of Livi and the great job she did on her reflections picture! Although, the trophy didn't go home with us, she did awesome :)

I can't wait until we get it back so that we can show the family! She wanted the trophy so bad...maybe next year.
