Field Trip

One thing that I love about the youngest child is that you can participate in field trips and help more in the classroom because there are no little ones still at home. I hurried and turned my paper in and was so happy to be one of two moms to get to go on this field trip to the Nature Center. It was so pretty because it snowed the day before and the animal tracks were fresh and easy to spot because of the snow. Livi was happy to be able to wear a hat and not have to do her hair...the problem is that she is always hot! I should have thought about this and at least put her hair on a pony tail. She was so hot that she had me carry her hat shortly after getting there. She ditched the gloves too, crazy girl!!

Balloon Hats and Lunch

Lunch was awesome! We ate in the Pope's room at Buca di Beppo, around the huge, round table. We thought it was hilarious as people would come up the stairs and see all these balloon hats and no kids!! As always, when we get together with the Brown's and the Gamble's it is fun, good food and plenty of laughs.

No...I don't think there is anything weird about us walking down the street in Salt Lake with ballon hats!!! What a fun day :)

An officer remembered

I woke up today and had the feeling that I would forever regret not going to the funeral procession for Officer Francom. I decided to let the kids make the decision of whether or not to be checked out of school for it. Livi was so excited, I had told her as much as I could on a 5 year old level and she was pumped! She got herself all fixed up in a dress and tights, she did her own hair and then she sat at the table and made a flag. There was a couple of hours that we sat in the cold and waited, but we will always remember this day!

So proud of her flag.
Flags everywhere!

so proud...

We are so proud of Livi and the great job she did on her reflections picture! Although, the trophy didn't go home with us, she did awesome :)
I can't wait until we get it back so that we can show the family! She wanted the trophy so bad...maybe next year.

Christmas Day

Everyone was happy with what Santa brought this year. He was very good to the kids. We spent the day traveling from one house to the next visiting family. We love it and wouldn't want it any other way.

Livi was so happy with her Bitty Twins

Jamie, Heather and Sierra
Christian and Ryan
Great Grandpa Trease made these awesome boards for each family! He must have spent the whole year working on them and they were a huge hit with the kids!! One side has a white board and the other side has a chalkboard. The top has a roll of paper. It is so cool and even more cool is that Grandpa made it :)

Martha, Livi and Dan
When Livi started drawing this picture we didn't know what she was drawing. It looked like a tree. The funny thing was, it was Santa's beard! That was the first thing. Everyone spent time with the drawing boards, what at hit!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was different and so much fun! We have struggled to find a good tradition since our grandparents passed away. Before then, we always had chicken cordon bleu, cheese potatoes, pretzel salad and the best rolls ever! We would eat, listen to the story of the birth of Christ from Luke 2 and then my grandpa would have the kids help with the flannel board pictures. We would end with stocking to open that they had shopped for all year long. Since their passing, we have struggled with what to do. I think we found it this year! We started with decorating gingerbread houses. Cole has a phobia of gummy candy so he wouldn't even come in that room. We each had to bring an idea for a game or something else for the small program. The games were hilarious! Kass read a story and my mom talked about the birth of Christ and also did a spotlight about her mother. As always...tons of yummy food!
