Temple Month

During the month of September, the young men and young women combined every week and visited as many temples as possible. It was an amazing experience to be able to be there with Ryan and Sierra and know that they were able to be touched by the things that we heard and felt at each temple. We went to Logan, Brigham City construction site, Ogden construction site, Bountiful, Jordan River, Oquirrh Mountain, Mt. Timpanogos and Draper. Since youth conference was at the Salt Lake Temple, we decided to end with the Salt Lake Cemetery instead and what an awesome night that was!! We had flashlights and went to the graves of John Taylor, Heber J. Grant, Porter Rockwell, Wilford Woodruff, Joseph F. Smith, Joseph Fielding Smith, Robert Taylor Burton, David O. McKay, and Gordon B. Hinckley. At each, a mother and daughter or father and son had been asked to tell a story about that person. Sierra and I were assigned Joseph Fielding Smith. It was fun for us to work together to find a story that we could share about him. It was a very spiritual night and it will stick with all of us forever! It was so neat to hear all the stories of these great men. I hope my kids were filled with the spirit like I was.

Woolly Mammoth

I had to post this funny story......We were picking tomatoes in Grandma Treases garden and Livi, Nedra and I were in a corner of it. Livi, who loves bugs and doesn't usually get scared of little creatures, lets out this girly shriek! I asked her what and in a panic she is pointing to me and yelling, "It's on your back! It's on your back!" I was swatting at my back and shaking my shirt, then she says that it fell down. As she's point into the tomato plants where it fell, she says, "see it's a a a a WOOLLY MAMMOTH!!! I bend down and see a praying mantis!! We laughed hysterically :) I think it's time to find a picture of a woolly mammoth.

Heber Valley

Half of the family spent the weekend in Heber. We stayed at the oldest, funniest little motel. It was so different and fun compared to most hotels we stay in. It was the difference between store bought and homemade. It had a little pool, a swing under and old apple tree, and it was stenciled like crazy!!! We had fun on the Heber Creeper, it name says it all, very slow!!

Fall Ball

Memories came flooding back to me as I watched Colter play baseball at Fourth Street Park. A big part of my childhood was spent watching my dad play softball at that park. One story I remember and I tell my dad often, was when he played in a home run tournament. He won a trip to Hawaii for him and my mom for hitting the most home runs over the fence. I vividly remember being so proud that he was my dad!! I was holding his hand and in a loud voice I kept saying. "I can't believe you just won a trip to Hawaii!!!" I wanted everyone around to hear that MY DAD was the winner! :) Fun day for me to see my little boy playing on the same field.

A Victory in Double Overtime

Ryan had a great game today. The team did awesome and they pulled off a win in double overtime! I wasn't sure how much of the game I would see since it took Livi and I twenty minutes to find a bathroom, then she needed a snack at the concession stand. Luckily, I was able to watch plenty since it went on and on and on, hahaha!!
Good game Eagles!

Last of the season

We went camping over Labor Day for the last time of the season. I love that we have a place to go as a family, a place that we can all be together, away from things like CELL PHONES!! Sometimes I love that we don't have cell service up there. This time was a little bit different because some of the family couldn't go, but we had others come that usually don't. We had 17 people all together. We got ice cream in downtown Lava, watched the tubers for a while and then just hung out at the camp. We decided to watch instead of tube this time because the last few times someone has gotten hurt (usually Ryan) he got a gash out of his back and was under the water as a four person tube went over fop of him...he thought he was going to drown. We thought it would be smart to wait until next summer before we do that again.
