Temple Month

During the month of September, the young men and young women combined every week and visited as many temples as possible. It was an amazing experience to be able to be there with Ryan and Sierra and know that they were able to be touched by the things that we heard and felt at each temple. We went to Logan, Brigham City construction site, Ogden construction site, Bountiful, Jordan River, Oquirrh Mountain, Mt. Timpanogos and Draper. Since youth conference was at the Salt Lake Temple, we decided to end with the Salt Lake Cemetery instead and what an awesome night that was!! We had flashlights and went to the graves of John Taylor, Heber J. Grant, Porter Rockwell, Wilford Woodruff, Joseph F. Smith, Joseph Fielding Smith, Robert Taylor Burton, David O. McKay, and Gordon B. Hinckley. At each, a mother and daughter or father and son had been asked to tell a story about that person. Sierra and I were assigned Joseph Fielding Smith. It was fun for us to work together to find a story that we could share about him. It was a very spiritual night and it will stick with all of us forever! It was so neat to hear all the stories of these great men. I hope my kids were filled with the spirit like I was.
